About

This is Project FFCCG. Our goal is to create a collectible card game based on Final Fantasy, one of the most popular RPG series in video game history. This project is run in all the participants' spare time, so it has taken quite a long time to get as far as it is today. The original idea for this project was conceived by Alex and Adam Pugh in the summer of 1999. Over the years, dozens of artists and other staff have offered their help for FFCCG, and now we are on the verge of completing the rules and first set.

We hope that you'll be interested in helping in some way. There are many ways that you can contribute, whether its art, help with the rules, official playtester, and many more! If you're looking to help, feel free to email us; we'd be glad to have you aboard!

- FFCCG Staff

HISTORY OF PROJECT FFCCG

The Final Fantasy Collectible Card Game, or Project FFCCG, is just what it sounds like: a project to create a collectible card game based on the ever-popular Final Fantasy series.

The project started out very small in 2000, with the idea in two minds. A year passed, and then the project went online. Support grew, and progress really began. The rules began to undergo changes, art was coming in steadily, things were looking up.

Later on, one of our staff offered to host a website for FFCCG. So, www.ffccg.org was created. Unfortunately, in 2004, the hoster shut down, and ffccg.org was lost. In its stead, we have created this site, mainly to provide you, the readers, staff, fans, and everyone else, with the information and new changes being made to FFCCG.

Also along the journey, we had hopes of getting an online program created for FFCCG. We had found a programmer who was willing to help, but unfortuantely, he became too busy with his work and family, and so we had to put the Cid Engine on hiatus.

In 2005, the project was rejuvenated with a new forum, which remains the current one, hosted by Invision. Through it, we have discussed rules, cards, themes, and loads of other topics. Since the forum's creation, small amounts of playtesting have begun. It was through this forum that the rulebook and first edition entered the pre-beta phase, where all that remains is extensive playtesting to ensure that everything will work without any glitches or oversights.

This site was launched September 11th, 2007, paid for directly by the creators. Here we hope to finish what began so many years ago, with just a handful of people and a dream.

We'd like to thank all those who are helping, have helped, or have been involved with FFCCG in some way. Without all of you, this project never would have seen light, and for that we are truly grateful. If you are reading this and would like to become involved with FFCCG, contact us! Your participation, no matter how great or small, will be more than appreciated.

- Alex and Adam, the creators of Project FFCCG
